Never Give Up On the Quest is a song dedicated to the Youth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their call from a prophet to take their place in the great gathering of Israel.
President Russell M. Nelson said, in the Worldwide Youth Devotional, “Hope of Israel” on June 3, 2018:
“Every child of our Heavenly Father deserves the opportunity to choose to follow Jesus Christ, to accept and receive His gospel with all of its blessings — yes, all the blessings that God promised to the lineage of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who, as you know, is also known as Israel.
My dear extraordinary youth, you were sent to earth at this precise time, the most crucial time in the history of the world, to help gather Israel. There is nothing happening on this earth right now that is more important than that. There is nothing of greater consequence. Absolutely nothing.
This gathering should mean everything to you. This is the mission for which you were sent to earth.”
This song’s message is meant to align with recent words of our prophet and all that he has invited the youth to do as they are enlisted in the youth battalion to gather and strengthen Israel.
In the summer of 2019, this song was sung and loved by a wonderful group of about 400 kids in Cardston, Alberta at a youth conference event called CFY. FSY (For Strength of Youth) has now replaced what some wonderful leaders did to help youth have an EFY experience in Canada (something that we hadn’t had in years here), and teaching this song to these kids that summer is a treasured experience for me!
